The TPS5430 is a wide-input non-synchronous buck converter from Texas Instruments, capable of accepting 5.5V to 36V input — making it ideal for direct LiPo battery connection in drone applications. A 3S LiPo (12.6V), 4S (16.8V), or 6S (25.2V) battery can directly power the TPS5430 input.
With 3A output current and adjustable output voltage (1.22V–32V via external resistor divider), the TPS5430 can generate 3.3V, 5V, or 12V rails for flight controller peripherals, GPS modules, RC receivers, and VTX video transmitters. The HSOP-8 exposed pad package enables efficient heat dissipation without heatsinks in most drone applications.
Widely used in open-source drone power modules including APM power brick designs and custom flight controller carrier boards.
