The SX1262 is Semtech's second-generation LoRa Sub-GHz transceiver, superseding the SX1276 with lower power consumption, higher TX power (+22dBm vs +20dBm), and improved link budget (170dB vs 168dB). It targets the 868 MHz (Europe) and 915 MHz (North America) ISM bands.
In drone applications, the SX1262 is the chip behind the ExpressLRS (ELRS) 900MHz radio control and telemetry systems. ELRS achieves <1ms latency over multi-kilometer ranges using the SX1262's LoRa modulation with custom packet rates up to 1000Hz. It's also used in MAVLink telemetry radios like the RFD900x.
